You can choose from either a Motorola red antenna or the longer flex that I prefer for cap ground team work. I still need you cap id if wish me to program them for any channels. I personally don't agree that its for pounding in tent stakes but that's just me.
Pix are of the actual radios I have on hand. Scanning everything or all the weather channels. I don't pretend to even understand. That's not supposed to be possible but these radios are hot.
It really can go through the weeds and swamps without a hitch. I know its tough as hell and have used these a lot in the civil air patrol for ground search rescue disaster relief once or twice when aircraft fm radio went on fritz.
I can program a generic national plug or if available your wing. Band edges tend to be slightly lower output then the Johnson data sheet implies. I can do vhf military uhf 700 800mhz or 902mhz radios.
One is cockpit overload the other just a problem waiting to happen. Also fire, police and other public safety agencies. This radio is Nita compliant and thus approved for use in civil air patrol.
No anxiety warranty program.
A little more elbow grease went into these as they apparently were in an area that was fairly dusty. Civil air patrol members. Aha, not so much.
Front panel programming is turned on so if you want to use the radio an unusual frequency that feature available. The crypt modes are enabled but I still don't have access to a key loader so will defer questions someone who is better acquainted with encryption. I've been fortunate in finding a new supply of the much sought after vhf 5100 handheld radios.
I've learned that the even latest tend to go out of tune due component aging but this will not be a problem. Best in the biz - this radio comes with my non anxiety warranty. A full alignment was done so its on frequency and has the proper power output high low receive is tuned to perfection. Jay - refactoring on the face book page.
I have cleaned the radio and given it a nice new like shine. A freshly tuned 5100 is quite amazing. Cap scan on. Check it out front panel programming has been enabled so you can enter a new channel without cable or software.
I have reception on all 7 of the weather channel using my roof mounted antenna. Physically they are in good shape. Your 5100 will have been set spot on frequency with modulation carefully adjusted, the receiver tuned along entire MHz range for crystal clear reception.
I'm very pleased with the results and hope you are too. In addition the transmitter has been adjusted for specked output or as close possible.
